A handcrafted collector’s bottle for the world’s biggest sporting event, priced at €2,100
Mexican ultra-premium tequila brand Clase Azul has unveiled its latest limited edition release: the Clase Azul Tequila Limited Edition Spirit of Champions. Timed to coincide with the FIFA World Cup in Mexico, the bottle is conceived as a tribute to the moment when nations and cultures unite on the world stage.
The release reflects a broader shift in the spirits world: tequila is increasingly asserting itself alongside established categories like whisky and cognac. Clase Azul has been at the forefront of this movement, positioning itself firmly at the intersection of exceptional tequila, cultural storytelling and collectible design.
A Blend Built on French Oak
Spirit of Champions is a joven tequila, meaning it draws on tequilas from different stages of maturation. A significant portion of the blend was aged for 28 months in French oak barrels from the Tronçais forest, prized for its fine grain and subtle influence on spirits.
The result is a layered flavour profile with notes of cooked agave, coconut, light vanilla and toasted wood, leading to a smooth and well-balanced finish.
The Bottle as a Work of Art
True to Clase Azul’s signature, the decanter is made from hand-painted ivory-white ceramic, crafted by Mexican artisans and adorned with refined golden lines and inlaid details referencing Mexican heritage. The gold detailing symbolises the moment of victory.
As with previous Clase Azul special editions, which regularly command significant sums on the collector’s market, the bottle itself is expected to be as prized as the liquid inside. The edition is strictly limited, with an international recommended retail price of €2,100 per bottle.
The Dutch Launch: An Exclusive Affair
The Dutch launch took place at a private event hosted at SHU, a members’ club in Amsterdam on the Handboogstraat that has rapidly established itself as a destination for connoisseurs of high-end spirits and hospitality.
Behind the launch is Luxury Selection, the ultra-premium spirits company founded in 2025 by entrepreneur Robin ten Have, an extension of his successful wine-importing business D-Vine. The company represents a curated portfolio including Beluga Vodka, Seventy One Gin and NOAM, with a deliberate focus on selective placement in Michelin-starred restaurants, five-star hotels and exclusive lifestyle venues rather than broad distribution.
Tequila’s Ascent into Luxury
With Spirit of Champions, Clase Azul further elevates its positioning. Scarcity, experience and cultural narrative are the defining values. The brand works exclusively with carefully selected blue agave and produces according to traditional methods, where time and precision are paramount.
What sets Clase Azul apart is the combination of exceptional tequila and iconic design. Each bottle is handcrafted by Mexican artisans and is regarded worldwide as a collector’s item. With limited editions and a strong cultural signature, Clase Azul positions itself firmly at the highest level of luxury spirits.
Spirit of Champions is available now through Luxury Selection at a recommended price of €2,100 including VAT. For purchase enquiries: siegert@luxuryselection.nl
